What is CAD cut custom?
CAD cut custom is where the customer artwork gets cut into a shape that isn’t a square or rectangle.
Can studio create a cutter for the client?
The only shape studio will create for the client for CAD cut custom jobs is a circle, but the job will need to be booked ok as IPOP with size followed by 'circle', for example 100 circle
Unless it is a custom drill one then the studio team can create circles and rectangles/squares.
How does the client set up the cutter?
The client will need to set up the cutter as a stroke colour with the stroke weight set at 1pt. If they can provide the cutter on a separate file, the studio team can then set this up correctly and place it on top of the client’s artwork.
Please see the screenshot below of how a custom cutter will look:
What does CS need to tell the client and when?
CS will need to let the client know how to set the cutter up when the client asks for a quote and to provide two files, one being the artwork without the cutter on and the other file being just the cutter file.
