What is a presentation folder?

A presentation folder is a kind of folder that holds loose papers or documents together for organization and protection. Presentation folders usually consist of a sheet of heavy paper stock or other thin, but stiff, material which is folded in half with pockets in order to keep paper documents.

How many types of folder do we offer?

We offer both A4 and A5 which come in both glued and interlocking.

All of our presentation folder templates show as the front on the right-hand side of the first page.

Glued comes in one style:

The Glued Presentation Folder is assembled by gluing the small tab to the pocket and then being folded in half, this is all done on the Moll.

These arrive fully made up and folded for the client.

Interlocking comes in 3 styles:

These are dispatched flat to a client. They need to be made up by the client when the goods arrive.

What are the folders made on?

After print and lamination (and embellishment if rqd), they are cut on a Heidelberg Cylinder Press.

It uses a large cylinder to press the sheet onto a cutting board, the board both cuts and creases the folder ready to be sent to the guillotine to be trimmed.

At this point the Interlocking folders are packed flat and set to the customer for self-assembly, however the Glued folders have to be moved to additional finishing to be glued using the Moll.

Can a client have a bespoke presentation folder?

Yes, we would need to see the cutter guide and they would be charged for the die too so it isn't always the most cost effective process.

What is the minimum run?

Custom quantity has now been launched, so the minimum is 25 and cust quantity available in increments of this.

Presentation flap widths;

Glued flap a4 width is 72mm
Interlocking a4 bottom flap 72mm side flap 52

Can we do presentation folders with no lamination?

No, due to the pressure of the die-cut process they can easily crack so we don't offer them without lamination as this protects the quality.

What stock can be offer presentation folders on?

We can only offer presentation folders on 350gsm silk (450gsm silk is too thick to crease/fold).

Can we do presentation folders with out BC slots?

No, as standard they will come with slots and there is no option to remove these on the die cutter we use.

If a client want this, it would be a case of them buying the cutter and treating it as a custom die cut job.

Do we offer landscape folders?

No we don't offer this as standard but it could be looked into as a bespoke quote/cutter.

Can we do presentation folders on uncoated?

Physically, this is possible however these will likely crack so before quoting this product - please ensure you have this conversation with the client.

Always use the production capabilities sheet for up to date information on what we can physically produce.

When lamination is offered on the front and back is this inside/outside?

This would be on both the front and back inside/outside.

Oversized sizes: Once folded down.

Glued:

A4- 216mm W x 304mm H

A5- 155mm Wx 218mm H

Interlocking:

A4- 214mm W x 301mm H

A5- 154mm Wx 217mm H

The pricing between soft touch and matt lamination is very different, is that correct?

Our A4 presentation folders are printed 1 per A4 sheet due to their size, which means there’s a considerable amount of lamination per folder. Soft Touch costs more than double the matt lamination, which is why the costs are considerably different. I have checked the production costs for this spec and the folder with Matt Lam costs £80.08 to produce, the folder with Soft Touch lam costs £188.37 to produce - so you can see the difference in cost price.
