Q1: What does "turnaround" mean for my order?
A: "Turnaround" refers to the time it takes for us to print and prepare your order for dispatch after your artwork has been approved. This is the production time itself, and it doesn't include the time it takes for delivery.
Q2: What are "cut-off times" and why are they important?
A: Cut-off times are the deadlines by which we need your artwork to be approved so we can start production on the same working day. If your artwork is approved after these times, production will begin on the next working day, which will shift your estimated delivery date.
Our key cut-off times are:
- For Same Day Express (SDE) artwork approval: 5:00 PM
- For all other turnarounds (if you approve artwork yourself online): 6:30 PM
- For manual proofing (if you send artwork to our Studio for us to check and proof): 4:00 PM (to receive a proof back on the same day)
- For manual proof approval (after you receive a proof from us): 5:00 PM
If you approve your artwork or send it to us after these times, it will be processed the following working day.
Q3: What production turnarounds do you offer?
A: We offer a range of production turnarounds to suit different needs:
- Same Day Express (SDE)
- 1 Working Day
- 3-4 Working Days
- 7-10 Working Days
For really high quantity orders, the turnaround time will be quoted individually. For these types of orders, we need to know when you're placing the order and approving your artwork before we can commit to a specific turnaround time. The final decision on the turnaround for very large orders is made by our Head of Brand in consultation with our production team, as it depends on the specific product, its complexity, and current factory volumes.
Q4: Are all turnarounds available for every product?
A: No, the available turnarounds can vary depending on the specific product you're ordering. For instance, products like Perfect Bound Books with Lamination typically have a longer minimum turnaround due to their complexity. You can easily check the available turnarounds for any product by visiting its specific page on our website.
Q5: Why aren't all turnarounds offered for all products?
A: The reason for this comes down to the nature of the product and our production efficiency:
- Complexity and Production Time: Some products are simply more complex or require more time to produce, perhaps due to specialised finishing, multiple stages, or drying times. It wouldn't be possible to produce these on very quick turnarounds like Same Day Express.
- Operational Efficiency: For certain high-volume products, offering very long turnarounds (like 7-10 working days) might actually make our production less efficient overall, as it could disrupt our optimised workflows. Our aim is to provide you with the best balance of speed and quality.
