Q: What exactly are File Copies?
A: File Copies are a small number of finished prints from your order that are sent directly to your billing address. This happens even when the main portion of your order is being shipped elsewhere (for instance, directly to your end-customers). They are essentially sample copies for your own use.
Q: Why would I want to order these File Copies?
A: Clients typically request File Copies for several important reasons:
- Quality Check: You can personally review the quality of the print, the material, and the overall finish to ensure it meets your standards before your customers receive the main delivery.
- Proof of Quality: You might use them to show other clients or colleagues the quality of the products you're distributing.
- Record Keeping: Many clients like to keep a physical example of the ordered job for their own records or archives.
Q: Which products can I get File Copies for?
A: Currently, we offer the File Copy option for:
- Business Cards
- Booklets
- Flyers
Q: Can I request File Copies for other types of products?
A: No, at this time, we only offer File Copies for business cards, booklets, and flyers.
Q: How many File Copies will I receive?
A: The quantity of File Copies generally varies by product:
- For booklets, you'll usually receive 1 to 2 copies.
- For flyers and business cards, you'll generally receive 3 to 5 copies.
Q: Are these File Copies in addition to the total quantity I ordered, or are they taken from my order?
A: These File Copies are taken out of your main job quantity. However, we typically include a small "overprint" on all jobs (meaning we print slightly more than ordered). This makes it very unlikely that deducting the File Copies would leave you short of your full ordered quantity. For example, if you order 100 booklets, you might get 98 sent to your customer and 1-2 sent to you, but in most cases, due to the overprint, you'd still receive your full 100 to your customer plus your File Copies.
Q: How much does it cost to add File Copies to my order?
A: There is an additional charge of £4.00 per job for this service.
Q: How are the File Copies sent to me?
A: Your File Copies are sent via DPD and can only be sent to the billing address associated with your account.
Q: I ordered File Copies but haven't received them. What should I do?
A: Please take these steps:
- Verify the order: First, check if File Copies were indeed ordered and paid for. In our internal SAMS system, you'll see a tick next to the job if they were.
- Check dispatch time: The File Copies are dispatched at the same time as the main order. Check the dispatch time for your main order.
- Allow delivery time: Please allow up to 48 hours for them to arrive. Please note that these deliveries are not tracked.
- If still not received after 48 hours, Please contact us. We can resolve this by crediting the £4.00 charge back to you.
- For booklets specifically: If your job was booklets, we often keep one copy on-site for our own records. You can raise a ticket with us to see if we have this available to send to you as a resolution.
Q: Can I add File Copies after I've already placed my order?
A: No, File Copies cannot be added to an order once it has been placed and confirmed for production. A potential workaround is to place the order for collection and manually take the File Copies, but please be aware that this option can delay your order by up to 24 hours.
