Perfect Bound Proofs
Our perfect bounds proofs will show in the following order:
Page 1: spread view of the front and back cover
Page 2: spread view of the inside cover pages
Page 3 onwards: single pages of all the inner pages
Outside cover pages
The outside cover pages will have two dash blue lines in the middle, this shows what will be printed on the spine. It will also label which is the front and back cover.
Inside cover pages
The inside cover pages will have four blue dash lines in the middle, the two in the centre is just to indicate the spine width, the two outer lines are to show where it will be bound. We have to leave the area within the two outer blue lines blank, this is due to this area being glued, we cannot have any print on the area otherwise the glue will not set.
Binding edge
The binding of perfect bounds will start 7mm away from the trim line, this is why on the binding edge we require a 7mm safety area.
This the side the binding edge will be on the inner pages:
Odd number pages - the left edge
Even number pages - the right edge
The rest of the edges can have a 3mm safety area.
Spine of Perfect Bound
Please note that for all Perfect bound booklets the spine changes in width due to the amount of pages and inner stock (thickness) For a 40pp booklet the spine will be a lot smaller than a 200 page booklet.
